Frequently asked questions
Where is your olive oil produced?
Our olives are locally grown and sourced within South Australia, with our oils pressed locally to preserve their freshness, flavour and quality.
What makes Adelaide Hills Harvest olive oil different?
We focus on fresh, locally sourced extra virgin olive oil with no preservatives or unnecessary processing. From our robust First Harvest Koroneiki to our delicate Arbosana and Full Fruit Press range, each oil has its own distinctive flavour and character.
What’s the difference between First Harvest and Arbosana?
First Harvest is made from Koroneiki olives and is our bolder EVOO, with herbaceous notes and a distinctive peppery finish.
Arbosana is more delicate and smooth, with grassy and fruity notes including apple and a subtle nutty, buttery character.
Both are extra virgin olive oils — it simply comes down to the flavour and intensity you prefer.
What are your Full Fruit Press oils?
Our Lemon, Garlic and Chilli Press oils are made by pressing fresh whole produce together with the olives rather than adding artificial flavouring afterwards.
This creates a naturally vibrant oil where the flavour of the fresh produce is incorporated during pressing.
Can I cook with extra virgin olive oil?
Absolutely. Extra virgin olive oil is a wonderfully versatile cooking oil and can be used for sautéing, roasting and baking, as well as dressings, marinades, dipping and finishing.
Different oils in our range also lend themselves to different dishes, so visit our Recipes pages for inspiration.
Are your olive oils organic?
Our olive oils are not certified organic. Our local grower does not use pesticides; however, because we are not certified organic, we don't market or label our oils as organic.
Do you filter or refine your oils?
No. Our olive oils are unfiltered and never refined, allowing them to retain their natural flavour, character and freshness.
How should I store my olive oil?
Keep your olive oil in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat, and make sure the bottle or container is properly sealed between uses.
Avoid storing it beside the stove or somewhere exposed to prolonged heat or sunlight.
What is the shelf life of your olive oil?
Our olive oils have a shelf life of up to 24 months when stored correctly.
For the freshest flavour and best tasting experience, we recommend enjoying your oil within 12 months. Always store it in a cool, dark place away from heat and direct sunlight.
